Internetworked Teams
- How teams actually work in the era of 24/7
For over two years we have been
researching,
speaking and applying a new approach to how
teams actually work.
While many leaders would like to think that the old
Chain of Command or Command and Control models can get
results, most still trying to use that model have been frustrated by how
ineffective it is.
Small teams work well with the Hub and Spoke
model. This works well for teams with up to 8 to 12 people, however, it
is not scalable and as it grows, burnout or failure of the hub - the
project leader - is a real possibility.
What works today is Internetworked teams.
Internetworked is how successful teams actually organize -
organize in a manner that, when examined, shows networks and connections that look surprisingly like the Internet. They also
share the advantages of the Internet in access to information,
resiliency, and clustering. This is how large teams actually organize to
succeed.
We are pleased to announce that our new
book Team Transitions by Dennis Smith is now available in
a preview edition. This book takes the reader through the evolution of
team design models, examines the strengths and weaknesses of each model
and presents how the Internetworked model is the superior solution for
creative and fast moving teams. For more information, please visit our
preview website where
you can sample the content and purchase a copy.
If you reside in the Northeastern US, you can also
see the author present this material at various
locations. Please contact the author about
speaking at your event.
